Red

I think Toronto is still pretty much having a green christmas. Ottawa not so much....

That's my backyard. I'm happy I packed my combat boots.

Lots of this.

There's not too many things I find fancier than red suede and gold bits. (link)

I wish I'd insisted a pair of red hunters be under the tree for me this year.

I would love to be able to plan a dinner party outside in the colder months, maybe October. Cozy.

I am thinking red knit sweater and leopard print for Sunday.

Ho Ho Ho

The beginning of a bathroom

The beginning of that time of year...

;-)

I suck ass at decorating for Christmas time. I'll still try.

Holiday warmth and glitter and sparkle and style I can jam to:

Hung out with Vicente Wolf:

He was funny. and interesting. I want to go for beers with him.

Had an amazing breakfast at The Highliner on 10th ave:

But now I think greek yogurt makes me want to shit my pants.
Me all day walking around Manhattan = "I'm going to shit my pants guys"
But it was good.

Enough touristy crap.

I am beyond excited to dress up in a cat costume all weekend.

Saved a turkey

Weekend of Food is over. I forced myself to put away the books and take it easy... my family drove the 5 hours to spend it at my place. We went on a nature hike and ordered chinese food. and then ate pumpkin pie. Suits me fine, not the biggest fan of turkey. or cleaning up after making turkey.

I love this time of year. I live for cooler weather and I love the colors. Here's some photos I snapped over the weekend on my phone and edited in the Cross Process app.

Dump

Crazy important updates for you!!! Just kidding, more like cellphone photo dump.

My home needed more glam... made some art & then spray painted a black frame gold.

I went to the Textile Museum of Canada. It was super cool... I LOVE just getting out to simply look at things. Just look. Do nothing and just SEE things. Who has time for that? Nobody. So this was kind of cool. I need to go to more museums.

I stood in front of a Suzani for a long time:

I need it.

I also went to Christie Antiques Market a couple of weekends ago and spent 4 entire hours there and left with nothing. Nothing but a sunburn, god dammit. But I'm totally going to the one in May. I don't give up that easily.

I did see some really good looking things. I want a library card chest. Bad.

Back to the drafting board. Send liquor.

my past week in cellphone photos

The beach. One thing in toronto that I will never tire of is definitely the waterfront. Also, the time spent here has now caused a ri-diculous need to check craigslist daily for boats for sale.

I am loving this color combo lately.

Cramped basement antique shops. Shopping for chairs forever.

Gross. But I want to go swimming in one lately. but gross.

Instablog

As IF there wasn't already enough of Tumblr, Pinterest & Twitter, I've thrown Instagram on to the list. I usually stink at blogging, I disappear for long periods of time and come back with not-much (See: this blog post). But you'll always find me in some corner, hoarding images and ideas I love. Add me to instagram! (sarah_v is my username.)

I love instagram a whole bunch, by the way. Probably due to the years and years I spent obsessing over toy cameras and dishing out too much money, film & developing costs suck butt. (I wish I'd get myself into less expensive hobbies). Instagram is an instaboner for my photography brains. Thumbs up to the internet, and the people who invent things that look like things I love, but aren't. (I will keep my collection of lomo cameras at the back of my closet forever)

(That last one is my bedroom, that's now fully painted, I'm just figuring out things to hang & things to toss before revealing here.)
